I study information security, which supports the safety of a ubiquitous society, from a more academic perspective.

I want to research information security in a ubiquitous society from an academic perspective

In order to realise a ubiquitous networked society as represented by the "u-Japan Strategy" of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, we must provide an environment where everyone can use the network safely. I believe that information security is the foundation of everything we need to provide such an environment. I chose this graduate school because I wanted to study this theme in an interdisciplinary and comprehensive way. I was attracted by the opportunity to study information security in the doctoral program with professors from a variety of fields, such as technology and law.

Solving the challenges of electronic voting can be applied to commerce, healthcare and education

Improving the efficiency and convenience of administrative services through the use of information and communication technology (ICT) is one of Japan's major challenges. I am going to research the next generation of electronic voting systems using the internet. This requires the solution of two major problems: ensuring the anonymity and privacy of the voter, and preventing double voting and other forms of fraud. If successful, it could be applied to areas such as surveys, commerce, healthcare, and education.

Creating an efficient management and operation system by applying the ISMS and other standards

Specifically, I intend to organise and integrate the ISMS, ISO 15408, and ISO 27001, into the e-voting system, and apply them from the development of the system to its operation. I believe that this will pave the way for efficient development and operation, whilst taking security into account.
