Student Interviews

In addition to research directly related to my work, I expect that IISEC will enable me to develop my basic skills as a member of society.

My goal is to learn more about information security and perform research that will help me in my work

When I joined my company, I was put in charge of developing the personal authentication system. My knowledge of information security at that time was very limited. I was like "what is an ISMS?". Instead of learning from books on my own, I decided to take the IISEC course because I decided that I could learn more from teachers who had experience in different fields. A senior colleague at my company who had completed this postgraduate course, told me that IISEC also offers research into personal authentication, which also appealed to me.

I want to absorb a wide range of knowledge, including legal subjects

At IISEC, you can also take lectures on law and ethics, and learn the basics of working in security. It also offers a wide range of subjects that I could not study at university, including ISMS and cryptography. I want to study enough to be called an expert in information security and become a reliable person in my company. I also expect to improve my business skills by interacting with people from all walks of life.

I want to be involved in fundamental research on personal authentication technology that will be used in the next 10 years

Although fingerprint authentication has its weaknesses, I believe that biometric authentication is the way forward for personal authentication. I would like to be involved in fundamental research into personal authentication technologies that can be used safely with strong security measures and that are likely to be put to practical use in the future.
