Admissions Policies - Doctoral Course

Information science and technology has a tremendous impact on the whole society and it is an important technology that will continue to support society in the future. Information network systems are now becoming an increasingly important social infrastructure as a shared infrastructure for humankind. However, whilst various conveniences in daily life and economic activities have improved, vulnerabilities to system safety and reliability and risks such as information disclosure, leakage, and alteration have also increased. Therefore, Information Security from a broad perspective is becoming more and more important.

In this doctoral programme, students will deepen their perspective and insights that will support the development of each field through advanced research in each specialised field, based on their background in broadly learning Information Security as an interdisciplinary comprehensive science. Through highly specialised research in specific fields, we will train researchers and research instructors who can construct a theory and a system that can suggest the ideal direction for a highly sophisticated information society that continues to change drastically. After completing this programme, we hope our students will discover a sign of potential information security problem and solve it, show the ideal future direction, and become a pioneer of the field with a broad perspective and insight.

As admission criteria, students must have the basic academic and research ability necessary to promote research after admission, as well as ethics and problem awareness regarding the information society. We emphasise the willingness and independence of conducting research with a sincere manner. We welcome students who aim for self-actualisation and social contribution whilst studying hard with other students from various backgrounds.
