Student Interviews

How can information security help management? I want to improve my ability to communicate clearly with management.

The possibility of becoming a pioneer

After passing the age of 40, I started to think vaguely, "How will I earn money when I'm 50?". This led me to consider enrolling in a postgraduate course, in order to systematically organise and enhance my knowledge of information security operations gained at work. One of the attractions of this graduate school, is the idea that "Information security is a comprehensive science". I think that new research is likely to emerge by relating information security to a wide range of academic disciplines beyond the boundaries of the humanities and sciences, including law, economics, statistics, psychology and business administration. If you can use the broad perspective you have acquired to develop new research, you may become a pioneer in your field. I enjoy "being the first to do something that others have never done before", whether it's work or study.

I felt the need for business administration and management

After spending a year at IISEC, I realised that the future of information security requires knowledge of business administration and management. We need a budget to implement our information security-related proposals. Therefore, it is important to be able to explain to management in simple terms how security can support the business. In addition, I would like to properly learn about management from the perspective of training experts in the security field, and I would like to make this my research topic.

A lively life is busy but fun

The moment I came to this graduate school from my workplace and hung my student card around my neck, I switched into "student" mode and felt very cheerful. Thanks to this, I have been very busy but also very productive and happy. I think what you learn at IISEC will help you in your work and will also give you a sense of purpose in your life. That's why it's important to take into account the number of lectures to take in a year in order to balance work and study. If you try to study too hard, both your work and your studies could collapse.
