Student Interviews

I want to continue to make our mobile phone email service safe and secure for everyone to use.

What can I do to reduce the amount of spam I receive?

As my work involves dealing with illegal and harmful information, mainly e-mails on mobile phones, I am researching legal and other measures regarding spam e-mails. I feel that it is not enough to increase the penalties for offenders, and we need to take a holistic view, including psychology, in order to curb their behaviour. This postgraduate course offers a wide range of subjects from technical to management. There are a lot of things that I realised again, such as "how cryptography is used in our daily life," which is useful for my research. The faculty members also have a lot of practical experience in the business world, and they are able to teach us in a way that makes a good link between academic and business perspectives.

Acquire diverse perspectives naturally

At ISS square, I could study with students of different ages from the University of Tokyo and Chuo University. There were many realisations, such as "this is how users see things." IISEC also offers a number of management lectures, which gives students the opportunity to learn the importance of diverse perspectives. When we launch new services at work, I now look at it in a different way than I did before, and ask myself "is it safe from this point of view?"

Output my work situation

On weekdays when I have classes, I leave the office around 6pm. This is why I place importance on sharing the current status of my work: how work is progressing, what will be done tomorrow, what will be passed on to my colleagues who remain. At IISEC, you can study "information security" related to various fields of society, and have the opportunity to interact with a diverse range of people. If you have any interest at all, please don't hesitate to join us.
