Student Interviews

I am researching methods to securely manage the user information used in advertisements, such as the recommendations we see on the internet.

I want to be able to answer questions about information security from my clients

I came to IISEC because I wanted to be able to answer security-related questions from my clients, but this wasn't as simple as I thought it would be (laughs). It is impossible to think about answers without knowing "what you are protecting, against what threats, and what cost." I want to gain the trust of my clients by advising them based on these security concepts and costs.

A basis for new business ideas

One of the attractive features of IISEC is that there are many opportunities for discussion with mature students who are actively working in variety of industries. It's also nice to have the opportunity to get to know professors other than the one who supervises my research in the lab. However, it's not good to do "know-all" or "being passive" attitude in front of experts. It's a lot of work to put together solid information and solid arguments, but I feel that it helps me to develop myself. I am hoping that this experience will help me to come up with new ideas for new business projects at work.

Interaction with other laboratories

The reason why you see recommendations when you shop online is because companies use the browsing history of your device, which is a grey area in terms of privacy. This is why I am researching ways to make internet advertising more convenient and to protect the privacy of users. I presented this idea at ISS square, a joint initiative with other universities including Chuo University and the University of Tokyo, and it was well received. I am currently examining various technical issues for a concrete implementation of this idea.
